Add a little spice to your summer By Mary Grauerholz

M exican restaurants have been few and far on the Cape and Islands. Often when they do appear, they lean more toward Southwestern cooking than Mexican. Ay! Caramba, owned by Mexican native Ira Mendoza, fills the bill for authentic Mexican food very nicely. In her little cafe, she serves such fare as Chile Rellenos, peppers stuffed with cheese, and soft tacos, corn tortillas filled with marinated grilled meats, minced onions and cilantro. "Some dishes are spicy," says Mendoza, such as her chicken enchiladas, which are served with any two side dishes of rice, beans or vegetables ($8.95). Generally, diners can tailor the heat factor by choosing their own homemade salsa at a little bar in the corner. A deck in front provides nice outdoor seating.
